2023 Riverdale Open Results

Congratulations to all the participants that joined us at the fresh new courts at Riverdale!  I think everyone had to get used to the new surface and how the ball reacted.  We had great weather for Friday and Saturday, with Sunday finishing up at Greenbelt due to the rain.

Congratulations to our winners in each of our categories:

  • Men's Singles: Dennis Keaveney with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Egan Woolfrey
  • Women's Singles: Samantha Prado with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Emily Godec
  • Men's Doubles: Lewis Cook and Josh Merrigan coming out on top in the round robin
  • Women's Doubles: Emma Murray / Samantha Vincent with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Patricia Dold / Christine Hand
  • Mixed Doubles: Emma Murray / Kai Stephenson with a 6-3, 6-7(4), 10-8 victory over Samantha Prado / Alistair Bath

And our consolation winners:

  • Men's Singles: Thomas Hawkins with a 8-2 victory over Marty Lambe
  • Mixed Doubles: Sara Hawkins / Thomas Hawkins with a 8-6 victory over Fiona Cavanagh / John Cavanagh

Big movers after the Riverdale Open include Dennis Keaveney and Egan Woolfrey breaking into the top 5 for Men's Singles.  Despite her final loss, Emily Godec moves into first place with a 6 point edge over Lisa Cook in Women's Singles.  Alistair Bath moves ahead of the pack in combined Men's Doubles, with Kai Stephenson moving into a tie for second place.  Emma Murray, with her wins in Women's and Mixed doubles moves into 3rd place in Women's Doubles combined category.
