Congratulations to all of the participants in the second annual Jack Hurley Memorial Tournament!  We had 93 entries from 77 players in this tournament and over 100 matches played!  Thanks to the Hurley's for their continued support and participation in the tournament.

We saw players participate from clubs all over the province and some visitors from outside the province!

Congratulations to our major category champions:

• Men's Singles: Dennis Keaveney with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Jared Stokes
• Women's Singles: Mia Waye with a 7-5( 7-5), 6-3 win over Samantha Prado
• Men's Doubles: Matt Barrington/Jared Stokes with a 6-4, 6-4 over Kai Stephenson/David Summers
• Women's Doubles: Annika Scharwey/Heather Williams won the round robin.
• Mixed Doubles: Dennis Keaveney/Eva-Lynn Rice with a 6-1, 6-4 win over David Summers/Heather Williams

And our other division champions:

• Under 11: Luke Rumbolt with a 4-0, 4-0 win over Sabastian Pande
• Men's Singles (4.0): Matt Edwards with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Neil Bennett
• Women's Singles (3.0): Amy Pryse-Phillips with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Jennifer Dyer

And all our consolation winners:

• Men's Singles: Sean Carroll with a 8-5 win over Rob Sills
• Women's Singles: Eva-Lynn Rice with an 8-1 win over Lina Bouziane
• Men's Doubles: Lewis Cook/Josh Merrigan with an 8-6 win over Sean Carroll/Lenny French

Rankings Update and Next Tournament Stop

Being our first tournament of the season, the Jack Hurley Memorial winners jump out to early leads in the all categories.  We are currently building a new rankings tracking application to calculate rankings and placements automatically.  We hope to have this in place before the next tournament.

Next stop in the tournament series is the Corner Brook Open on July 12 - 14, 2024.  More information will be available soon for this event, so check back regularly.
